Debra Jo Rupp disappointed by short role in show
Debra Jo Rupp, known for her role as Sharon Davis in WandaVision, recently expressed disappointment about her return in the spin-off series Agatha All Along. Rupp was excited to join the show because she was told she would play a witch. However, when she arrived on set, she felt ignored and quickly realized her experience would not be as she expected. Rupp’s character met her end early in the series, in just the third episode. The decision to kill off Sharon was made after the initial scripts were written. Show creator Jac Schaeffer explained that this plot twist was intended to give the show more impact and to emphasize the dangerous nature of witchcraft, which includes themes of death. Despite her short time on the show, Rupp appreciated being part of a talented cast that included Kathryn Hahn and Patti LuPone. Though it's unlikely her character will return, there is speculation about a possible second season for Agatha All Along. Marvel's TV head mentioned that they are considering future seasons but have not confirmed anything yet. Meanwhile, Patti LuPone has said that a second season is unlikely since the showrunner is not interested in more seasons. Agatha All Along is currently available for streaming on Disney Plus.
