Deerhoof, an experimental rock band, has announced their new album titled "Noble and Godlike in Ruin." The album is set to be released on April 25, 2025, through Joyful Noise Recordings. The band released the album's first single, "Immigrant Songs," in an unconventional way. Fans can access the song only through Craigslist. This release comes two days before it will be available on major streaming platforms. The band posted in the "Services" section on Craigslist, sharing details about how to listen to the new track along with images of the album artwork. In a statement, Deerhoof explained their choice to premiere the song this way. They aimed to spotlight a tech platform that does not support harmful political views. "Immigrant Songs" is described as quirky and melodic, ultimately leading to a chaotic ending. The song addresses themes of immigration, with band member Greg Saunier reflecting on the twisted nature of current immigration discussions. He emphasized the importance of immigrants in society, stating they play a crucial role in keeping it together. Deerhoof also has a series of concert dates planned for 2025, with performances scheduled in cities like Minneapolis, Denver, and San Francisco. The band will also tour internationally, visiting venues in the UK, Belgium, and Norway.
