Delamere Forest offers nature trails and activities

Spring is here, and many people are eager to enjoy the outdoors. Delamere Forest, located east of Chester, is a great place to explore. It's surrounded by beautiful nature, making it perfect for a refreshing walk after winter. Delamere Forest offers many activities. Visitors can enjoy walking trails, go camping, or even try Go Ape, an adventure park. The forest is also a venue for live concerts through Forest Live, featuring popular artists like Gary Barlow and Snow Patrol this year. Getting to Delamere Forest is easy. It's less than an hour's drive from Liverpool, or you can take the train to Delamere station, which is close to the forest. The train journey takes a little over an hour and includes a change at Chester. Upon arrival, you'll find a cafe at the station for a snack or breakfast before heading to the forest. The forest has several walking trails themed around popular characters. There's the Gruffalo trail, the Stick Man trail, and the Wallace and Gromit trail. You can purchase activity packs related to these trails, which include fun items for both kids and dogs. During a visit to the Gruffalo trail, you can cross streams, walk through tall trees, and see stick houses. At the end of the trail, you will meet the Gruffalo himself. If you enjoy wildlife, Blakemere Moss is a peaceful lake nearby, home to various birds. Before leaving, consider visiting Delamere Farm Shop for fresh produce or Delamere Stores for local pies and ales. If you have time, stop by the Vale Royal Abbey Arms pub for a drink.
