Delhi Police have taken action against two brothers for their involvement in serious crimes. They filed a case under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against Mohan Singh, known as Monu, and his brother Sanjay Singh, also called Sonu. The brothers are linked to activities such as robbery, extortion, and illegal liquor sales. Monu was arrested on March 13. His brother Sanjay was arrested earlier and remains in custody. Both are reportedly part of a criminal group known as the Badhwar gang. Police say the brothers have built a wealth of property through illegal activities, including five properties and ten vehicles connected to their operations. The gang is accused of carrying out armed robberies against individuals and businesses, as well as running an extortion racket. They demanded protection money from local traders and eliminated rivals through violence. Police investigations also revealed that Monu and Sonu's operations included smuggling and selling illegal liquor across the city and nearby states. A Special Investigation Team was formed to track Monu's movements. After several months of surveillance, he surrendered to authorities. Police have also arrested another associate, Pankaj Singh, who was managing the gang's finances. Authorities are now working to break down the gang's financial operations and have identified at least six other members involved in Badhwar Gang's activities. Legal actions will target various crimes linked to organized crime as the investigation continues.
