Delhi Capitals strengthen squad with Faf du Plessis and Mukesh Kumar at IPL 2025 auction

Delhi Capitals made significant additions to their squad on Day 2 of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction in Jeddah. They acquired former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis for ₹ 2 crore and retained Indian pacer Mukesh Kumar for ₹ 8 crore. Du Plessis, a two-time IPL champion, has scored 4,571 runs in 145 matches. He led the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to the playoffs last season. Mukesh Kumar debuted in IPL 2023 and took 17 wickets in 10 matches last season. Delhi Capitals' Director of Cricket, Venugopal Rao, highlighted the team's strong bowling lineup, which includes experienced players like Starc and Natarajan. The team aims to balance their batting and bowling to compete effectively in the tournament.
