Delhi hospitals equipped with 1,956 ventilators, 764 ICU beds
Delhi's Health Minister Pankaj Singh announced that government hospitals have a total of 1,956 ventilators and 764 ICU beds. This update came during the Delhi Assembly's Budget Session, where Singh emphasized efforts to improve the healthcare system. Of the ventilators, 1,007 belong to the Delhi government, while 646 are provided by the central government. Singh reiterated that strengthening healthcare services in government hospitals is a top priority. Opposition Leader Atishi criticized the central government for not delivering promised financial assistance of Rs 2,500 to women. She expressed hope that the BJP would keep its promises during the budget session. On the same day, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta prepared a ceremonial dish called 'Kheer' to mark the opening of the budget session, which runs from March 24 to March 28. This session is significant as it is the first under the BJP after 27 years. During the session, various committees will be formed, and key discussions on issues such as water shortages and healthcare will take place. The Assembly aims to address important matters affecting Delhi and ensure effective governance.
