Delhi Metro introduces cargo services with Blue Dart partnership

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will launch cargo services in partnership with Blue Dart. This service will use the last coaches of select trains during non-peak hours to transport packages without affecting passenger comfort. Inspired by the Madrid Metro, which started a similar service in October 2024, Delhi's approach will allow both passengers and cargo on the same train. This hybrid system aims to enhance urban logistics. The cargo services will operate outside busy travel times, helping to reduce traffic congestion and vehicle emissions. This initiative makes Delhi Metro the first in the South Asia-Pacific region to integrate cargo transportation.
