Delhi minister praises pollution control after Diwali as BJP criticizes AAP government
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai praised residents for their responsible Diwali celebrations, which he said helped keep pollution levels under control. The Air Quality Index (AQI) remained in the 'very poor' range, contrary to predictions of severe pollution. On Thursday, the AQI was recorded at 330, rising to 362 by Friday morning. Most monitoring stations reported similar 'very poor' air quality levels, indicating ongoing pollution challenges in the city. The BJP criticized the Aam Aadmi Party government, calling it "anti-Hindu" and blaming it for persistent air pollution. They accused the government of corruption and failing to address stubble burning in Punjab, claiming it deflected responsibility onto Diwali celebrations.
