Delhi plans three new expressways to ease traffic

timesnownews.com

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is working on three new road projects in Delhi to improve traffic flow and connectivity. The total estimated cost for these projects is around Rs 91,000 crore. One of the projects is a 20km link that will connect the Urban Extension Road-II to the Delhi-Katra Expressway. This road will help vehicles from Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab reach the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport more easily. The estimated cost for this link is about Rs 2,500 crore. Another proposed project is a 17km link from UER-II near Alipur to Tronica City. This road will pass near the Delhi-Dehradun expressway, which is being built. It aims to make travel simpler for cars coming from Rajasthan and Haryana to Dehradun. The NHAI also mentioned that this road will help reduce traffic on the current Ring Road. The third project is a 35km bypass for east Delhi, which will connect the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway with Noida. This bypass will make it easier for drivers from various parts of Delhi to reach Noida without delays. The NHAI is currently preparing detailed project reports and hopes to complete them in 6 to 7 months. Once the reports are finished, funding and specific plans will be finalized.
