Delhi Police arrest gangster using Instagram "honey trap."
Delhi Police have arrested a gangster named Manoj Kumar using a clever strategy called a "honey trap." On Tuesday, police officers posed as a Mumbai model to lure him to a meeting in Safdarjung, south Delhi. Once he arrived, they arrested him. The police discovered Kumar's activity on Instagram last December. They decided to create a fake profile of a model, posting photos to make it believable. Over the next few months, Kumar interacted with this fake model and frequently requested video calls. The officers avoided these calls by claiming the "model" was unavailable. During the arrest, police found two pistols and eight live cartridges with Kumar. He is already a proclaimed offender and has outstanding warrants against him for violating the Arms Act. Kumar, who lives in Nangloi, is a life convict and had previously escaped from parole after a 2005 abduction-murder case. While in Tihar Jail, Kumar became linked with Vicky Ramzanpur, a member of the Gogi gang. He later joined the gang with help from another gangster named Deepak Tittar. After his escape in 2014, Kumar committed several crimes, including murder and car thefts. Although he had been arrested in 2015 and released on parole, he absconded again in 2023 and continued his criminal activities, including car robberies in Rajasthan.
