Delhi's air quality worsens to very poor as wind speeds decline
Delhi's air quality worsened to the higher end of the 'very poor' category on Sunday, with an average air quality index (AQI) of 369. This is a significant drop from Saturday's AQI of 316. Calm winds have allowed local pollutants to accumulate. Previously, stronger winds had helped disperse emissions from Diwali celebrations, leading to a temporary improvement in air quality. Forecasts indicate that Delhi's air quality will remain in the 'very poor' category from Sunday through Tuesday. The city also recorded a minimum temperature of 16.5°C, slightly above normal for this time of year.
