Delhi's air train project deadline extended to April 2025
Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) has extended the deadline for submitting expressions of interest for its air train project to April 16, 2025. This delay aims to encourage more participation from interested parties. The automated people mover (APM) is expected to be operational by March 2028, with a capacity to handle 40,000 to 50,000 passengers daily. DIAL plans to improve current transit options by increasing bus services between terminals. The proposed air train will cover 7.7 kilometers, mostly elevated, and is estimated to cost around Rs 1,500-1,600 crore. The Union aviation ministry has restricted DIAL from charging passengers to fund the project upfront.
