Deloitte urges consultants to adopt engineering-first mindset
Deloitte executive Jillian Wanner believes that consultants must shift to an "engineering-first mindset" to remain competitive. She made these comments at Nvidia’s GTC conference and stressed that employees should prioritize being technologists and engineers before focusing on consulting roles. Deloitte has partnered with Nvidia to enhance its use of AI in various tasks. Wanner announced the introduction of tools like "DARTbot" and "NavigAite" to help the company’s workforce. This partnership aims to automate administrative tasks, making work more efficient and valuable. Wanner highlighted the growing interest in generative AI among Deloitte's federal clients. She explained that many manual tasks are being reconsidered for automation through AI. Wanner remarked that there is great potential to streamline functions that traditionally require significant effort. Deloitte is making a significant investment in AI transformation. The firm earns about $3.3 billion from federal contracts, which represents nearly 10% of its revenue for the fiscal year 2024. To support its new focus, Deloitte has launched several AI-powered tools, including a chatbot for its Audit & Assurance professionals and specialized language models for document review across its workforce in Europe, the UK, and the Middle East.
