Denver man sentenced for human trafficking, 21 years
A Denver man has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for human trafficking. William Galbreath pleaded guilty to one count of human trafficking in January. As part of his plea deal, other charges including pimping, money laundering, and violating a protection order were dropped. The Denver District Attorney’s Office said Galbreath targeted vulnerable women from April 2021 to April 2024. He coerced them into commercial sex by making false promises of large incomes. He also created fake businesses to hide the money he made from their activities. Galbreath was already on probation for a previous conviction of pimping. Despite this, he continued to exploit women, often those who were young, homeless, or struggling with addiction. He promised them wealth but only gave small amounts while controlling their finances. Judge Nikea Bland also ordered Galbreath to register as a sex offender as part of his sentence. The case highlights ongoing issues of human trafficking and exploitation in the community.
