Detectives investigate buried body in Valley Center

Sheriff's detectives are looking into a body found buried in Valley Center. The discovery was made on Thursday, following a report to the Sheriff's Office about a family member who had died recently. The report came in around 5:45 p.m. from someone who indicated that the person was buried on their property on Paso Robles Road. When deputies arrived, they found a grave that appeared to be recently dug. Officials, led by Lt. Patrick Fox, noted that the circumstances of the death were suspicious. There was no official record of the person’s death, prompting the homicide unit to take over the investigation. The identity of the deceased has not been made public. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the homicide investigators or to leave anonymous tips with Crime Stoppers.
