Developer Kenyon Clarke accused of stealing phone in Auckland

Car dealer John Murphy has accused Du Val founder Kenyon Clarke of stealing his phone. Murphy claims the incident happened on February 17, when he took pictures of Clarke outside his home in Remuera, a wealthy area in Auckland. According to Murphy, Clarke grabbed his iPhone 15 during a confrontation. He says the phone was later found by police, but it was waterlogged. Murphy claims the police told him it had been retrieved from Clarke's swimming pool. Murphy now wants to pursue a private criminal case against Clarke for theft and intentional damage. He has filed documents with the Auckland District Court to seek approval for this legal action. Clarke reacted to the allegations by laughing them off. He told the media he finds the situation amusing.
