Devils trade for defenseman Tory Dello from Red Wings
The New Jersey Devils have acquired defenseman Tory Dello from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for future considerations. This trade occurred after the AHL trade deadline and involves a player on an NHL contract. Dello, 28, has struggled for playing time this season, appearing in only 27 games with Grand Rapids. He previously played for Laval and Chicago in the AHL and began his career with the Griffins after college. Dello will join New Jersey's AHL affiliate in Utica but cannot be recalled to the NHL this season. The Devils now have 49 contracts, while Detroit's count drops to 45.
