Devotee dies waiting in line at Rameswaram temple
A 59-year-old devotee from Rajasthan died on March 18, 2025, after collapsing at the Ramanathaswamy temple in Rameswaram. C. Raj Das had recently traveled to the temple and was waiting in line for an early morning darshan when he fainted. Temple staff quickly took him to the hospital, but despite receiving first aid, he passed away due to health complications. His body was later taken to the government hospital in Rameswaram. The local police have opened an investigation into the incident. This event follows another tragedy just two days earlier, when a 50-year-old devotee from Karaikudi also collapsed in a temple queue and died shortly after.
