Dewberry hotel in Charleston revamps food and beverage
The Dewberry hotel in Charleston is planning a major revamp of its food and beverage options. This includes a new direction for the restaurant space that has been empty since Henrietta's closed in 2020. Adam Jimenez has been hired as the new director of food and beverage. He aims to elevate both the hotel's culinary offerings and its beverage program. Jimenez believes there is a great opportunity to innovate and better serve guests. The Dewberry will also welcome Executive Chef Alex Ursprung, who will lead the culinary operations. Ursprung has experience from New York and emphasizes the importance of local ingredients. He plans to create dishes that reflect the rich culinary traditions of Charleston. Two other chefs, Alex Castagneto and Jenn McCoy, will join the team. New menus have already debuted at The Living Room and the rooftop Citrus Club. The Living Room features updated comfort food, while the Citrus Club offers small plates with global influences. The new restaurant, which is set to open in the reimagined Henrietta's space, will aim to feel independent from the hotel. Jimenez stresses the need for a unique menu and excellent service that distinguishes it from typical hotel dining experiences.
