Dezdrick Lindsay joined Oregon with hopes of making a big impact, but a shoulder injury has kept him off the court this season. The junior college transfer recently underwent surgery for a torn labrum and is now working towards a full recovery. Lindsay is optimistic about returning to strength by this summer. He stated, “I’m looking forward to getting a lot of wins and contribute to the team.” He sees himself as a versatile player, emphasizing his skills in defense and shooting. Last season, at Florida SouthWestern State, Lindsay had an impressive performance, averaging 16.0 points per game with a shooting accuracy of 50%. He also contributed 7.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.7 steals. After having surgery in November, Lindsay has started weight training and conditioning. He believes he needs about two more months to be fully healthy. “It’s been different. I’ve never been injured before,” he shared. He appreciates the support from his teammates during his recovery. Lindsay is among four Oregon players who plan to return next season. He has at least two years of eligibility left. Changes in rules regarding junior college players’ eligibility may affect how many of those years he can use.
