DHS searches Columbia University residences; no arrests made

Department of Homeland Security agents searched two residences at Columbia University on Thursday night. This occurred shortly after the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil by ICE at an off-campus apartment. Interim President Katrina Armstrong informed the university community that no arrests or detentions were made during the searches. The searches were conducted under judicial warrants. Armstrong emphasized the university's compliance with legal protocols and stated that no items were taken. She acknowledged the stress within the community and provided resources for students.
