DHS seeks more pro-Palestinian protesters' arrests
The White House announced that the Department of Homeland Security is seeking to arrest more pro-Palestinian protesters following the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University student. This aligns with President Trump's executive order targeting antisemitism on U.S. campuses. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that DHS is using intelligence to identify individuals involved in pro-Hamas activities. Columbia University has reportedly not cooperated with DHS in providing names of such individuals. Khalil was arrested in his apartment and is currently detained. His lawyers have filed a challenge against his detention, claiming it is unlawful. The administration recently canceled $400 million in federal grants to Columbia for not addressing antisemitism.
