Dia Mate to collaborate with unnamed OPM music icon

Dia Mate, the newly crowned Reina Hispanoamericana 2025, shared her exciting career plans during a press conference in Manila. The beauty queen won the pageant last month in Bolivia and showcased her singing talent while competing. Mate, who is from Cavite, has plans for numerous performances this year. She will collaborate with a well-known artist from the Original Pilipino Music (OPM) scene, though their identity has not been revealed yet. They are set to work on a new song next month. Her recent single "Ganda-gandahan" has gained popularity, appearing on Spotify's "Viral 50." Another song, "Ikaw ang Pinili Ko," features a music video with her boyfriend, JK Labajo. During the pageant, Mate performed in multiple events and was the first contestant to sing during the opening number. She expressed joy at being able to record in Bolivia, which she found to be a fun experience. Mate is the second Filipina to win the Reina Hispanoamericana title, following Teresita Ssen "Winwyn" Marquez in 2017. She remarked on her calmness during the competition and expressed that her journey has made her a better person. As part of her role, Mate will return to Bolivia and visit other Latin American countries. She also plans to take Spanish lessons to connect better with people. The organizers aim to send her to various parts of Asia to promote Hispanic culture and the Reina Hispanoamericana pageant.
