Diagnostic van confirms 37 cancer cases in Maharashtra
A diagnostic van has identified 37 confirmed cancer cases in a month, screening 7,385 suspected patients in Pune, Satara, and Solapur districts. The program began on February 9, 2025, to address rising non-communicable diseases. Among the confirmed cases, 21 patients had cervical cancer, 15 had breast cancer, and 1 had oral cancer. The diagnosed patients will be referred to hospitals for further treatment and surgery. The initiative also includes health education sessions on cancer awareness and self-examination. The van is equipped for various cancer screening tests and staffed by healthcare professionals.
