Director defends live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon as teaser trailer debuts

Universal Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for the live-action remake of *How to Train Your Dragon*. Director Dean DeBlois, who also directed the original animated films, expressed excitement about revisiting the story and characters. DeBlois emphasized that the new film comes from a place of love and respect for the original series. He introduced the young actors Mason Thames and Nico Parker, who will play Hiccup and Astrid, noting their strong connection to the characters. The animated *How to Train Your Dragon*, released in 2010, follows a young Viking and his dragon friend. The live-action film is set to premiere in theaters on June 13, 2025.
