Director Gopukiran defends film earnings and theater run

timesofindia.indiatimes.com

Director Gopukiran Sadasivan has responded to a report from the Producers' Association about his film, "Aathma Saho." He disagrees with their earnings claim, saying the film made much more than the reported Rs 30,000. Gopukiran shared on Facebook that "Aathma Saho," released on February 28, has actually earned around Rs 7 lakh from theaters like PVR. He argues that the association's figures are misleading and could hurt the film’s future. He insists that "Aathma Saho" is still showing in theaters, now in its fourth week. Gopukiran criticized the claim that the film is no longer running, calling it "completely false." In his post, he expressed concern that false reports could deter new filmmakers from entering the industry. He asked industry veterans to verify facts before making public statements and to support rather than discourage new talent. Gopukiran called for truth and responsibility in reporting within the film industry. He emphasized that small films deserve respect and should not be dismissed.
