Dirty water in taps worries Greater Noida residents
Residents in Greater Noida's Delta 2 area received foul-smelling water on Wednesday. Nearly 1,000 homes were affected, raising health concerns among locals. Many fear that using this dirty water could lead to diseases. The issue has been ongoing for several days. Alok Nagar, the resident welfare association's general secretary, stated that people in Delta 2 are forced to find alternative water sources. He warned that if the problem is not resolved soon, residents may protest against the Greater Noida Authority (GNIDA). So far, GNIDA has not responded to complaints. In addition to the water quality issues, residents in 12 Avenue of Gaur City 2 and parts of the 100x sectors faced low water pressure. A resident noted that water supply was inadequate over several days. Although GNIDA tried to increase the pressure briefly after complaints, the situation improved only temporarily. Similar problems were reported in the Amrapali, Aranya, and Eldeco societies in Sector 119. Residents there struggled to fill their water tanks due to the low pressure. Gautam Sharma from Eldeco society mentioned they had to rely on tankers for water, especially during the previous week before Holi. Residents of Sector 49 are still waiting for Ganga water supply. Officials from the water department have stated that plans are in progress to bring Ganga water to newer areas and sectors soon. They assure residents that the problem will be addressed.
