Djed Spence confident against Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli
Djed Spence, the Tottenham Hotspur full back, recently joked about an Arsenal player not being able to beat him in a one-on-one situation. Spence has made a name for himself this season, benefiting from injuries within his team and securing a regular place in the starting lineup. Spence's journey at Spurs almost ended early when former coach Antonio Conte reportedly deemed him a "club signing." However, he has turned things around this season, playing in 24 matches and impressing fans with his defensive skills and offensive contributions. In a recent podcast appearance with Rio Ferdinand, Spence was asked about Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli. He laughed off the suggestion that Martinelli could get past him, confidently stating that very few players could beat him in one-on-one situations. Despite his playful comments about Martinelli, Spence had high praise for Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly. He admired Lewis-Skelly for mimicking Erling Haaland's goal celebration, calling him "a bad boy" for his confident display. Spence defended the action, saying it was part of the game and a fitting response.
