DND Flyway faces severe traffic congestion as vehicle numbers soar

Commuters on the DND Flyway are facing severe traffic congestion as eight lanes narrow to two on the loop connecting to the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. This bottleneck worsens during peak hours, especially with additional traffic from the Chilla border. Authorities are planning to widen the loop as a short-term solution. They are also awaiting approval for the Chilla elevated road, a long-term project aimed at easing congestion. The elevated road has faced delays due to funding issues. Currently, the DND Flyway handles 2.7 lakh vehicles daily, far exceeding its original design capacity of 70,000 vehicles. The situation has become increasingly challenging for commuters, particularly during evening hours.
