Doctor pleads no contest to youth sexual abuse charges
A 68-year-old doctor from Oakland County has pleaded no contest to multiple charges of sexual misconduct involving teenage boys. Zvi Levran, who worked with youth hockey teams in Michigan and Minnesota for over 20 years, was arrested in 2022 for the abuse. In court on March 18, Levran admitted to 11 counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, 10 counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, and four counts of child sexually abusive activity. Authorities say many of the boys he abused were those he met while providing medical assistance to youth hockey teams. Levran is scheduled to be sentenced on April 29. Prosecutors plan to ask for the maximum sentence.
