Dodgers pair Snell and Glasnow in Japan exhibition game
The Los Angeles Dodgers used a piggyback pitching strategy in an exhibition game against the Hanshin Tigers, pairing Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow. This allowed both pitchers to increase their pitch counts and prepare for the regular season. Snell pitched 4.1 innings before Glasnow took over in the sixth. Manager Dave Roberts explained that this approach aimed to give the bullpen rest and evaluate both pitchers ahead of the season. Looking ahead, Yoshinobu Yamamoto will start on Opening Day, while Roki Sasaki will debut in the final game of the Tokyo Series. Snell is set to pitch the home opener on March 27.
