Dog abuser evicted from Ashgill after neighbours complained
A man named Steven Brown has been forced to leave his town after neighbors reported hearing dogs in distress coming from his home in Ashgill, Lanarkshire. Videos showed Brown with several dogs that appeared dead or injured. One disturbing clip allegedly showed him dragging a lifeless puppy down the stairs. Neighbors became alarmed when they heard the dogs “screaming” and called authorities. The Scottish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) launched an investigation and found several blood-stained weapons inside Brown’s home. This included a baseball bat and pipes believed to have been used to harm the animals. When SSPCA and police arrived, neighbors gathered outside, expressing their anger and concern. They witnessed officers collecting evidence from the house, including a pole covered in blood. One neighbor described hearing loud bangs and the heartbreaking screams of the dogs, which made it clear that something was wrong. In November, Brown was convicted of two counts of animal cruelty. He admitted to causing suffering to a Chihuahua and to not taking it to a vet when it was sick. He also confessed to kicking another Chihuahua. However, he pleaded not guilty to a more serious charge that involved mistreating several dogs, where four were found dead under unclear circumstances. As a result of his actions, Brown received a community service order that will last two years, along with an electronic tag for five months. He has also been banned from owning any animals for five years. The community is relieved that he is no longer in their neighborhood.
