Dog grieves for owner during his trip to Egypt
Ibrahim Youssef went to Egypt on March 13, leaving behind his wife, Rebecca, and their golden retriever, Wrenley. Wrenley has struggled with her owner's absence during his 43-day trip. Her reaction has gained a lot of attention on TikTok. Three days after Ibrahim left, Wrenley started carrying around one of his T-shirts. She even slept with it, trying to feel closer to him. By day five, Wrenley was so sad that she refused to eat. Rebecca said, "I've never seen her this sad before—it was heartbreaking." Rebecca shared Wrenley’s story on TikTok, hoping to raise awareness. Many viewers were so moved they thought Ibrahim had died. Rebecca had to clarify that he was safe and just away for a visit. Concerned about Wrenley's health, Rebecca consulted their veterinarian, who confirmed that dogs can experience separation anxiety. To help Wrenley cope, Rebecca provided extra walks, playtime, and even special treats. She wanted to show how much love pets can have for their owners. Many TikTok users offered suggestions and shared their own reactions. Despite the initial sadness, Wrenley is showing signs of recovery and has started eating again. She still misses Ibrahim but is gradually returning to her normal self. Ibrahim will be home on April 23, and the family is excited for their reunion. Rebecca believes it will be an emotional moment for all three of them.
