DOLE announces pay rules for 2025 holidays in the Philippines

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in the Philippines has announced new pay rules for employees working during holidays in 2025. This follows the declaration of holidays under Proclamation No. 727. Employees working on regular holidays will receive 200% of their wage, plus an additional 30% for overtime. If a regular holiday falls on an employee's rest day, the pay increases further. For special non-working holidays, employees will earn an extra 30% for the first eight hours worked. The "no work, no pay" rule applies unless company policies state otherwise. Special working holidays will be treated as ordinary working days.
