$10,000 reward announced for missing Portland man
Portland police and the FBI are offering a $10,000 reward for information about Miguel Oliveras, a Boston man who went missing in 2006. He was last seen at the Platinum Plus Club in Portland, Maine, on September 2, 2006, when he was 24 years old. Now, he would be 43. Despite extensive investigation, there have been no sightings or contact with Oliveras since that night. His mother, Myrna Oliveras, expressed her frustrations during a news conference. She hopes people will come forward with information that could help find her son. FBI Agent Christopher Peavey believes someone knows what happened to Oliveras after he left the club. Police Lieutenant Nicholas Goodman mentioned that some positive leads have emerged, but he also noted that the hope is for Oliveras to be found alive, even though it is "logical" to consider he may not be. Miguel Oliveras is described as a Hispanic man, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds when he disappeared. He had brown eyes, black hair, and tattoos on his neck, back, shoulder, and hand. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Portland police at 207-874-8575 or text "PPDME" to 847411. Tips can also be submitted to the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or online at tips.fbi.gov.
