$11 million in luxury items seized from crime syndicate
Australian Federal Police have seized over $11 million in luxury items, including art, Rolex watches, and a yacht, as part of Operation Fuji. This operation targets a Middle Eastern crime syndicate linked to drug importation and threats to life. The seized assets include an $800,000 yacht, five original paintings, and properties valued at $8.7 million. The Supreme Court of Victoria approved the asset seizure, suspecting they were proceeds of crime. The Criminal Assets Confiscation Taskforce aims to disrupt organized crime by ensuring individuals justify their wealth. Since July 2019, the taskforce has seized over $1.2 billion in criminal assets.
