Apple Federal Credit Union is distributing $2.5 million to settle a class action lawsuit over unfair overdraft fees. Claimants do not need to provide proof to receive cash payments. The settlement covers customers charged overdraft fees from January 7, 2021, to March 31, 2024. Those charged $100 or less will receive a proportional share, while those charged more will be capped at $100. Eligible members will automatically receive payments unless they choose to opt out by April 20, 2025. A final approval hearing is scheduled for June 17, 2025.
