Dolly Parton’s foundation invests $4.5 million in Nashville library's early literacy program
Dolly Parton’s Dollywood Foundation has invested $4.5 million in the Nashville Public Library’s new early literacy program, Begin Bright. This is the largest donation in the library foundation's history and aims to promote early reading among children. Begin Bright will provide a Little Library of books from Parton’s Imagination Library to every childcare center in Nashville. The program will also include a new app for digital literacy training for parents and teachers. The Nashville Public Library plans to launch Begin Bright in spring 2025. The Dollywood Foundation aims to raise a total of $20 million to support the program and its sustainability.
