Dolphins consider Tyron Smith to enhance offensive line

The Miami Dolphins are looking to improve their offensive line this offseason. They face uncertainty with Terron Armstead's future on the team. To fill this gap, the Dolphins may consider signing Tyron Smith, a former star with the Dallas Cowboys. Tyron Smith is currently a free agent. He has had a history of injuries, but when healthy, he performs well. In 2024, he played only 10 games with the New York Jets but had a solid performance with a grade of 73.7 according to Pro Football Focus. Some analysts, including Christian D'Andrea from USA Today, suggest that Miami could be a good fit for him. Smith has not played a full season since 2015 and might consider retirement. However, if he chooses to continue playing, he could help strengthen the Dolphins' offensive line. He has had an impressive career, starting with the Cowboys in 2011. Smith made eight Pro Bowl appearances and earned several All-Pro selections. Despite recent injury issues, he remains a top-tier player when on the field. Since 2020, Smith has participated in only 40 out of 84 games. Nevertheless, he was named a Second-Team All-Pro in 2023. The Dolphins need to enhance their offensive line, and signing Smith for a year might be a strategic move as they also prepare for the NFL Draft.
