Dolphins likely to draft tight end Tyler Warren
The Miami Dolphins had a strong offense in the 2023 NFL season. They scored the second-most points and gained the most yardage, winning 11 games and reaching the playoffs. However, their performance declined last season, leaving the team at a crossroads. Star wide receiver Tyreek Hill hinted at wanting to be traded after the last regular season game, which has raised concerns about his future with the team. Even if Hill stays, the Dolphins may need to enhance their offense for the 2025 season. Tight end Jonnu Smith had a successful year, making the Pro Bowl with 884 yards and eight touchdowns. Nevertheless, some analysts believe Miami should draft another top tight end next month. A recent mock draft suggests the Dolphins will select Tyler Warren from Pennsylvania State University with the No. 13 pick. Expert Lou Scataglia described Warren as a crucial addition who can both block and catch passes effectively. He noted that the Dolphins' offense, under coach Mike McDaniel, would benefit from a well-rounded tight end like Warren. Warren had an impressive season with 104 receptions for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns in 2024, along with 218 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. He is noted for his size at 6-foot-5 and 256 pounds, along with his athleticism. Reports indicate he could become one of the best tight ends in the league. However, tight end is not the Dolphins' most urgent need. They need improvements on their offensive line to protect quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who has had concussion issues. Additionally, their defense requires reinforcement after losing safety Jevon Holland to free agency and struggling to create turnovers in 2024.
