Domestic abuser jailed for mock execution of wife
Akram Miah, 25, has been sentenced to 12 years and nine months in prison for a series of violent acts against his wife, Ella Barry. His abuse included a mock execution in front of their children and physical assaults with weapons. Miah's three-year campaign of terror involved controlling behavior, threats, and severe physical violence, including stabbing and hitting Barry with a hammer. He was also found guilty of unlawful wounding and coercive behavior. The court issued an indefinite restraining order against Miah, preventing him from contacting Barry. He did not attend his sentencing, and the judge described his actions as extreme and sadistic.
