Dominique Pelicot will not appeal 20-year sentence for drugging and raping wife in France

Dominique Pelicot, convicted in France of drugging and raping his wife, will not appeal his 20-year sentence. His lawyer stated that he wants to avoid causing further trauma to his wife, Gisele Pelicot. Pelicot was found guilty earlier this month, along with 50 co-defendants who received sentences ranging from three to 15 years. Gisele Pelicot was recognized for her bravery during the trial. The deadline for filing appeals is today, and 17 of Pelicot's co-defendants have already appealed. Gisele Pelicot's lawyer mentioned she is not afraid of a potential new trial.
