Domino's CEO Don Meij steps down after 22 years, Mark van Dyck to take over
Domino's Pizza CEO Don Meij is stepping down after 22 years in the role. He will be replaced by Mark van Dyck, who previously led the Asia Pacific division at Compass Group. Meij will assist the board for an additional year. Under Meij's leadership, Domino's expanded from 387 stores in 2005 to over 3,700 today, with sales increasing from $300 million to more than $4 billion. However, the company has faced challenges this year, with stock down 43% and a decline in same-store sales. Van Dyck is expected to bring his experience in transforming businesses to Domino's. He previously doubled growth at Compass and improved profitability in various markets. His annual salary will be $1.585 million, along with company shares.
