Dow Jones rises as Tesla surges and Cathie Wood buys into falling stock
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 201 points, or 0.5%, as the stock market rally linked to Donald Trump's election continued. Tesla stock surged about 7%, while Nvidia fell around 2%, contributing to a mixed performance in tech stocks. Cathie Wood's ARK Invest purchased over 76,000 shares of a gene-based medicine stock that had dropped 43% since February. This stock rebounded more than 7% today, although it remains below its 200-day moving average. Coinbase stock broke out of a late-stage pattern, gaining over 13%. Bitcoin also rose about 4%, trading above $82,000, reflecting a favorable market environment for cryptocurrencies following Trump's election.
