Dozens of green sea turtles released in Gulf of Mexico before cold front

On Friday, 41 green sea turtles were released into the Gulf of Mexico to seek warmer waters ahead of a cold front. These turtles had been cared for by the Gulf Center for Sea Turtle Research and the Houston Zoo after being rescued from the coast. In total, 53 turtles were rescued and treated for minor injuries and muscle damage. All released turtles were reported to be healthy and active.
