Dozens of Teslas vandalized in Hamilton, Ontario
Dozens of Tesla vehicles were damaged in Ontario, Canada, in a disturbing act of vandalism. The incidents took place over two days, with the Hamilton Police Service confirming that around 80 cars were damaged at a dealership. Police reported deep scratches and punctured tires on the vehicles. The vandalism occurred overnight on March 18. Officers are reviewing footage from the vehicles' camera systems, but they have not yet determined the motive or identified any suspects. The night before the dealership incident, police in London, Ontario, were called to investigate a suspicious fire that destroyed a Tesla, resulting in damage estimated at $140,000. Vandalism against Tesla cars has increased in recent weeks. Many believe these attacks are politically motivated, tied to CEO Elon Musk's involvement in government. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi described the attacks as "domestic terrorism" and stated that the Department of Justice will impose serious consequences on those involved. In the U.S., there were also attacks on Tesla vehicles recently. A repair center in Las Vegas saw multiple cars set on fire and shot at on March 18. The Department of Justice has already charged three people with crimes related to these attacks. President Trump suggested that those convicted of vandalizing Tesla properties could serve their sentences in El Salvador’s notorious prisons. Since January 2025, attacks have been reported in at least nine states, prompting the FBI to urge the public to stay vigilant around Tesla locations.
