Dr. Katie Pizzo opens unique orthodontics practice in Greenville

Dr. Katie Pizzo has opened her own orthodontics practice with a unique and personal touch. Originally from a tiny town in New York, Pizzo studied finance, Spanish, and chemistry at the University of South Carolina before attending dental school back in New York. After completing her residency in North Carolina, she moved to Greenville in 2021. The journey to her practice involved a 15-month process of finding the right location, signing a lease, and completing construction. During this time, Pizzo was also starting her family. She faced challenges, including undergoing IVF, but she remained motivated. “I’ve always been like, ‘if you just persevere, you can figure it out,’” she said. Pizzo gave birth to her daughter, Ellie, just as she received the permit to start construction on her office. This experience has boosted her confidence in both her family life and her career. She enjoys helping people and feels excited about her new role as both a mom and a business owner. Her practice is designed to be a calming environment. Pizzo wanted her office to be bright and welcoming, with lots of natural light and colorful decor. She aims to make the experience enjoyable for her patients. Her dog, Farley, a certified therapy dog, will also help provide comfort to patients. Pizzo believes in the importance of connecting with her patients and creating a warm atmosphere. She loves to "pour into cups," meaning she wants to invest in her family, her business, and her patients.
