Dr. Manjunath advocates for peace among religions
Bengaluru: Dr CN Manjunath, a Bangalore Rural MP and cardiologist, spoke at the South Asia International Peace Conference on Sunday. He highlighted that all places of worship, whether temples, mosques, or churches, share six letters in their names. He emphasized that all religions offer similar teachings, yet people continue to fight. Dr Manjunath questioned why such conflicts occur. He pointed out that many people are unhappy in today’s stressful world, often believing others are happier than they are. He also shared his views on what he believes are two significant sources of distress: money and mobile phones. He stated that mobile phones contribute to increased stress from a young age. Trinethra Mahantha Shivayogi Swamiji, a spiritual leader, added that people should evaluate their peace and happiness annually, alongside their financial health. He stressed that there should be no differences or hatred based on factors like gender or hunger, as all souls are the same. NS Mahadev Prasad, the district governor of Rotary 3192, mentioned that this conference serves as a foundation for promoting global peace. Delegates from five countries, including the US, Turkey, and Sri Lanka, attended the event. The conference was postponed from the previous day due to a local bandh.
