Dr. Nicole Saphier offers natural hair and gut health tips
Dr. Nicole Saphier, a medical contributor, recently shared her insights on preventing and treating hair thinning, as well as maintaining gut health. She appeared on "Fox & Friends Weekend," where she explained the various factors that can cause hair loss, such as hormonal changes, stress, and medications. Dr. Saphier personally experienced hair loss due to a medication for an autoimmune condition. To address this, she sought natural remedies instead of surgical options. She started using olive oil and rosemary oil, massaging them into her scalp. Within one to two months, she noticed significant hair regrowth. In addition to oils, Dr. Saphier created a blend of herbs like gotu kola and horsetail to provide essential nutrients for hair, skin, and nails. She emphasized the importance of a healthy diet, hydration, and exercise to support hair growth. On the topic of gut health, Dr. Saphier pointed out that gut wellness is crucial for overall health. She noted that modern diets, filled with antibiotics and processed foods, have harmed gut health. To improve it, she recommends probiotics found in fermented foods, along with prebiotics from garlic and blueberries. She also highlighted the importance of consuming fiber-rich foods like raspberries, lentils, and avocados to support gut function. Furthermore, she suggested the use of ginger for promoting gut motility and stressed the significance of staying hydrated and exercising. Dr. Saphier discussed stress management as well, stating that it affects both hair loss and gut health. She advised that managing stress involves finding balance and supporting the body through daily movement, mindfulness, and adequate sleep.
