Drink morning coffee to potentially increase lifespan
Drinking coffee in moderation can have health benefits, according to an expert. Dan Buettner, a longevity researcher, suggests that drinking coffee before noon may help people live longer. He claims that black, unsweetened, medium-roast coffee is best for health. Buettner points out that drinking coffee after midday could increase the risk of heart disease. He warns that evening coffee may disrupt sleep, which is also bad for health. According to Buettner, having your coffee early lowers the chance of cardiovascular issues. A study published in the European Heart Journal supports Buettner's claims. Researchers found that among 40,000 adults, those who drank coffee primarily in the morning were 31% less likely to die from heart problems over ten years. The study noted that both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee have anti-inflammatory properties. These can help reduce risks related to heart attacks or strokes. This effect may be stronger for those who drink coffee earlier in the day since inflammatory markers in the body are more active in the morning. However, experts caution that the study does not prove a direct cause-and-effect relationship. Tracy Parker from the British Heart Foundation mentions that moderate coffee consumption is generally safe. Drinking coffee earlier rather than later may be beneficial for heart health without negative effects.
